01 What I collect
Nothing. Not as a figure of speech — there is genuinely no mechanism here that could. These pages are static files with no server logic behind them, no database, no contact form, no newsletter, no analytics script and no advertising. I cannot tell you how many people visited this page, because nothing on it is counting.
02 What your browser fetches
A page is never only itself, so here is every outside request this site can make, and when. Any company below receives your IP address and browser details simply because your browser asked them for something — that is how the web works — and each handles it under their own privacy policy.
- Google Fonts
- Two typefaces, loaded on every page. This is the only third party contacted automatically.
- Apple
- Thirty-second song previews stream from Apple's audio servers — but only from the moment you hover a sleeve in the Music section and let it play. If you never do, Apple is never contacted.
- YouTube
- Only when you press a video, which opens it on YouTube. Nothing from YouTube loads inside this site.
- Spotify, Apple Music,
GitHub, LinkedIn, Instagram - Ordinary links. They are contacted when you follow one, and not before.
Album covers and video thumbnails are stored on this site rather than hot-linked from the stores they came from, specifically so that looking at the Music section does not quietly announce you to anyone.
03 Hosting logs
The host that serves these files keeps the standard technical logs any web server keeps — IP address, browser, which files were requested, when — for security and to keep the thing running. That is the host's processing under the host's policy; I do not read those logs and nothing is built on top of them.
04 The one thing stored
Your light-or-dark preference, written to your browser's local storage under the key jj:theme so the site does not forget it between visits. That is the entire contents of it. It is not a cookie, it is never sent anywhere, and clearing site data removes it.
05 When you contact me
Email, WhatsApp, a phone call or a message on LinkedIn all arrive with whatever you chose to put in them — your name, how to reach you, what you wrote. I use it to reply, and if we end up working together, to run the project.
It is not sold, not added to a list, and not passed to anyone who is not part of delivering the work. I keep enquiries as long as they are useful and delete them when they are not.
06 What you can do
Your browser can block third-party requests and clear stored preferences at any time, and this site keeps working with all of it switched off — you will get the fallback typefaces and no previews, and nothing else changes.
Anything you have sent me is yours: ask to see it, correct it or have it deleted and I will do it. One email is enough.
